Festival 2018

The Festival

12 October 2018, 10:00 - 24:00, Kunsthalle Zürich

Many are interested in science and technology. But it is true that only scientists can be part of discovering and inventing new stuff? Definitely not! Crowdfunding has become a powerful fundraising channel for people who want to launch projects that would otherwise never happen. For the past two years, the Science Booster has been Switzerland's only platform for science crowdfunding - - and it's a success! To celebrate the diversity of science and discuss the potentials of crowdfunding, we are organizing a Crowdfunding Science Festival that is open to all. The public will have the opportunity to reflect upon the opportunities and challenges of crowdfunding, to meet the scientists behind the campaigns, to discover projects that will be launched at the event, to participate in crowdfunding workshops, and to attend a gala ceremony celebrating the best campaigns. And of course, there will be a crowdfunding science party!

How to Create your own Science Crowdfunding Campaign

In this workshop, you will learn how to design, build and run your own crowdfunding campaign for a scientific project. The founders of the Science Booster will help you understand how to reward contributors for their support and what role other funding schemes and institutions can play in the process. Choose amongst a list of fictional projects, or bring your own idea and, together with a panel of experts, discover the opportunities, challenges and realities behind the potential of crowdfunding in science and innovation.
